■ Consideration of Participants’ Health Conditions
Serious safety incidents, including injuries, exhaustion, cardiac arrest, and other medical emergencies, may occur during the Gyeongju Marathon.
Participants must carefully consider their own health condition before deciding whether to take part in the race.
Participants with underlying conditions such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, or respiratory disease, or those who have recently experienced any health problems, should decide whether to participate only after confirming, through a medical institution or other appropriate means, that they are able to run without undue risk.
If a participant feels any physical abnormality during the race, the participant must immediately stop running and seek assistance from the nearest event staff member or medical personnel.
The Organizer will operate ambulances and a medical support system at major points along the course; however, each participant is responsible for checking his or her own health condition and participating responsibly.
■ Insurance Coverage
The 2026 Gyeongju Marathon will be covered by commercial general liability insurance for event operations.
However, compensation for injuries or accidents occurring during the race will be available only within the terms, conditions, and coverage limits of the insurance policy in effect. The Organizer’s liability may be limited for any damages exceeding the scope of insurance coverage or for accidents caused by the participant’s intentional misconduct or negligence.
For insurance-related inquiries, please contact the Secretariat.
■ Registration and Eligibility
All information entered at the time of registration, including name, date of birth, and contact details, must be accurate and based on fact.
If false information, use of another person’s information, or failure to meet eligibility requirements is confirmed, the registration may be cancelled or participation may be restricted, and any resulting disadvantage shall be borne by the applicant.
The Full Course and Half Course are open only to healthy men and women aged 18 or older who agree to the Participant Instructions. The 10km Course is open to healthy men and women who agree to the Participant Instructions.
※ Participants may not take part using assistive equipment, including wheelchairs, inline skates, or similar devices.
※ Participants may not take part accompanied by infants or baby strollers.
Athletes who, as of the race date, are currently registered in athletics (running events), triathlon, or modern pentathlon may participate, but are excluded from awards. Former athletes whose registration has been cancelled for less than two years, or those who have participated in the National Sports Festival as a city or provincial representative, are also excluded from awards. If such fact is confirmed after the race, any prize-winning result will be cancelled and the prize must be returned.
Group registration is not permitted; only individual registration is available.
■ Prohibition on Transfer of Entry Rights and Unauthorized Participation
Registration under an assumed or borrowed name, as well as the transfer, sale, or lending of an entry right after registration, and participation by a substitute runner, is not permitted.
If the actual participant differs from the registered applicant, the participant may not receive compensation for any accident occurring during the race. If participation under a borrowed name or transfer of an entry right is discovered, the participant may be subject to disadvantages, including restrictions on future participation.
If conduct that interferes with event operations is confirmed, including organized or commercial transfer or sale of entry rights or fraudulent use of timing chips, the Organizer may take measures deemed necessary by the Secretariat, including cancellation of participation, invalidation of records, restriction of future participation, and legal proceedings.

Participants should change clothes in the changing rooms installed at the assembly area, check their belongings at the baggage storage area, warm up sufficiently, and prepare for the start.
For the Gyeongju Marathon, participants will be assigned to groups based on their average pace through record submission after registration. Starting from 8:00 a.m., Full Course and Half Course participants will start in the order of their assigned groups regardless of race category, followed by 10km Course participants.
Records will be measured by net time, starting from the moment the participant crosses the timing mat at the start line.
For the safety of participants, please follow the instructions of event staff and start in an orderly manner with sufficient spacing.
■ Course Time Limits
As the race passes through downtown Gyeongju, the time limits will be strictly enforced in order to minimize inconvenience to citizens: 5 hours for the Full Course, 2 hours 30 minutes for the Half Course, and 1 hour 30 minutes for the 10km Course.
After the time limit for each distance has passed, traffic control will be lifted. Participants are requested to cooperate so that they can finish within the permitted time and must follow the instructions of race officials.
■ Changing Rooms and Baggage Storage
Changing rooms and baggage storage areas will be operated on race day for the convenience of participants.
Baggage storage areas are separated by participation division, and participants must deposit their belongings at the designated storage area.
After finishing the race, participants may retrieve their belongings by presenting the sticker issued at the time of baggage check-in.
Valuables will not be accepted for storage, and the Organizer cannot check the contents of stored items in advance; therefore, the Organizer shall not be responsible for any loss.
As theft of cash and valuables may occur at the venue, participants are advised not to carry cash or valuables other than items necessary on race day.
■ Beverages and Refreshments
Water and sports drinks will be provided at every 5km point and at the finish area, and sponges will be available every 5km after the 7.5km point.

■ Instructions on Use of the Timing Chip
Records will be measured by net time, starting from the moment the participant crosses the timing mat at the start line.
Upon receiving the race packet by delivery, participants must immediately check whether the bib and timing chip have been properly included. If there is any issue, participants must contact the Secretariat.
The timing chip is attached to the back of the bib. If the chip is bent or removed, the record may not be measured properly.
The bib must be worn on the front outer layer of clothing so that it is clearly visible. The chip is disposable and does not need to be returned.
■ Disqualification
After payment has been completed and participation has been confirmed, transfer of eligibility and substitute participation will not be recognized.
Changing participants or participating as a substitute runner will result in disqualification, and no record certificate will be issued.
Running with another person’s chip, committing fraudulent acts that interfere with record determination, failing to wear a bib, altering a bib, or attaching a bib that has been modified without authorization will also result in the record not being recognized, and participation may be stopped by event operations staff.
■ Cancellation of Participation and Refunds
Cancellation of participation is available until Monday, August 31, 2026. After that date, cancellation and refunds will not be available.
For card payments, approval will be cancelled after identity verification. Depending on the card company, cancellation and refund may take a certain period of time.
For refunds of virtual account payments, it may also take a certain period of time for the refund to be deposited into the designated refund account.

■ Other Matters
The Organizer has the authority to revoke eligibility, invite special guests, suspend or cancel the race, change the course, and take other necessary measures.
The race may be cancelled or changed due to force majeure events beyond the control of the Organizer, including natural disasters, the spread of infectious diseases, administrative measures by the government or local authorities, traffic control, social disasters, or other similar circumstances.
